The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, procurement, and manufacturing of construction projects, including turnkey solutions and noise management systems. This role requires strong project coordination, client relationship management, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. The Project Manager will define project scope, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and ensure successful completion.

This position reports to the Director, Projects.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & ExecutionDevelop and maintain comprehensive project plans.Define and sequence tasks using a Work Breakdown Structure.Identify and secure resources while fostering team collaboration.Inspire and support team members to achieve project goals.Identify opportunities for improvement and implement lessons learned.Conduct project closeouts, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.Manage projects using ProCore system software.Scope ManagementReview and interpret purchase orders and contracts.Ensure all legal documents are signed and securely stored.Communicate and manage changes effectively.Prepare and approve contract extras, ensuring accurate invoicing.Cost ControlDevelop and maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.Drive value analysis efforts to increase contribution margins.Anticipate cost challenges and implement proactive solutions.Ensure timely invoicing and monitor receivables.Follow up on unpaid invoices as needed.Quality AssuranceDefine acceptance criteria for deliverables and ensure compliance.Maintain familiarity with ISO standards and enforce quality control.Ensure timely submission of quality documents from fabricators.Scheduling & Risk ManagementUtilize Microsoft Projects for scheduling and progress tracking.Monitor vendor schedules and mitigate potential delays.Forecast and track earned value and revenue recognition.Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.Procurement & Vendor CoordinationGenerate purchase requisitions and related documents.Assist in vendor evaluation and ongoing performance monitoring.Communication & ReportingMaintain project documentation in ProCore and OneDrive.Ensure team members and stakeholders understand project requirements.Facilitate effective communication between the company and clients.Generate reports, meeting agendas, and status updates.Additional ResponsibilitiesDevelop a basic understanding of project design and technology.Stay up to date with best practices in project management.Maintain professionalism, integrity, and a strong company reputation.Travel as required for customer meetings, job site visits, or vendor reviews.Support other departments as needed, including sales, procurement, estimating, and health & safety.
Qualifications & ExperiencePost-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy equipment fabrication or industrial construction.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Experience with ProCore or other project management software (an asset).Background in the power sector (preferred).Engineering degree (an asset).PMP certification or formal project management training (preferred).
