Reporting to the VP – Construction Management, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the main contractor and various trade contractors, commenting shop drawings, reviewing construction programs, monitoring daily progress, attending site meetings, and supervising resident team in performance of their duties.
Primary Responsibility• Monitor and supervise the main contractor and various trade contractors in completing the works with satisfactory workmanship and within the planned schedule including attending meetings, coordinating with interior designers, operators, other consultants and contractors
• Monitor and supervise the subordinates in completing their assignment within schedule
• Review the contractors’ programs and monitor the daily progress
• Monitor and supervise consultants’ resident team in implementation of quality control plan and carry out regular check on the workmanship of the contractors
• Review and comment on contractors’ submissions including shop drawings, program, material submissions, method statements and progress report
• Assist in value engineering of consultants’ design and recommend cost effective source of alternative suppliers, construction details without compromising the quality of completed works
• Communicate closely with the design team on design issue which may impair the progress or quality of works
• Monitor the contractors’ implementation of safety plans
• High Diploma / Degree holder in Building / Construction / Civil / Structure / Project Management
• Willing accept roster arrangement during the public holiday / night shift, when required.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in building construction
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as construction manager in contractor or developer
• Experience in managing Fitting out works is required
• Experience in large scale project / hotel project / casino project / high-rise building is preferred
• The candidate must be fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
• The candidate must demonstrate good communication and leadership skills
