Our Construction Management (CM) group in our New York City office is seeking a Project Manager specializing in EHS Services, for upcoming Design-Build Hazardous Materials Remediation projects for Public Sector Clients. Potential projects include management and oversight for the closure of underground storage tanks, replacement of sump pumps, remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, and abatement of hazardous materials from public facilities of various magnitudes.

 

Successful candidates will perform a wide variety of tasks related to management, supervision, and coordination of teams, trade contractors, and subcontractors. In addition to being the prime point of contact with the client, duties will also include managing the Design and CM Project Teams, conducting progress meetings, reviewing and processing contractors’ requisitions, monitoring schedules and budgets, as well as supervising the administration of contracts.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage and Procure Construction related activities for scope such as contaminated soil remediation, Sump Pump replacement and Tank replacementPerform in an Owners Representative’s roleOversee DesignOversee Pre-Construction,Manage Procurement and ExpeditingSchedulingChange and Cost Control and ManagementOverall Field Project ManagementEnsure smooth daily operations and field coordination.Maintain regular communication and coordination with the client’s representative.Implement and enforce safety and quality control measures.Prepare and process project invoices.Manage project closeout activities and punch lists.Perform accurate project estimates.Manage the bidding process, bid leveling, and procurement.Develop and manage project budgets.Oversee multiple projects for various clients. Supervise field personnel and Assistant Project Managers.Conduct constructability reviews to ensure project feasibility and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related discipline preferred; commensurate experience in construction projects including experience in planning, management, coordination and scheduling, and design-build work will be considered.10+ years of construction management experience for Public Sector owners is required.Significant experience working on the construction of design-build projects, Design, Procure and Construct and owner’s representative projects is preferred.P.E. license and/or CCM certification is a plus.Specific experience with clients such as the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) and New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) is preferred.Experienced with construction phasing and organization of building componentsAbility to understand and integrate contractual obligations into project control toolsKnowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standardsWorking knowledge of local contractor and sub-contractors ideal, but not requiredAbility to compile and analyze dataOrganizational skills, oral & written communication and team attitudeWorking knowledge of basic computer software
