Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis, require employees to live within a commutable distance and, since business needs vary by position and may change over time, managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.
Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely, require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

Job SummaryManage key strategic projects related to overarching PSE&G/Utility initiatives. The position provides oversight and coordination of all activities related to the successful completion of assigned project(s) and initiatives from cradle to grave, including but not limited to the scoping, implementation and development of a change management plan and reporting methodology. Responsible for identifying, prioritizing and coordinating implementation efforts for the top Utility strategic objectives, as well as the reporting and metrics/measures of those efforts. The candidate will achieve the desired results of the assigned projects through the use of PSEG's Values and Behavioral Standards, sound project management practices and skills, and a demonstrated commitment to collaborative teamwork. Successful candidate will support the Utility lines of business in accomplishing the desired scorecard results and business objectives, and ensure the quality of work performed is in compliance with all Company standards, procedures, safe work practices, and government laws and regulations while successfully managing project budget and schedule adherence.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Corporate Development Group is responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering transmission opportunities both within and beyond PSEG’s service territory. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to manage projects from inception through commissioning successfully.
In this role, the candidate will focus on building and maintaining a strong network to identify new transmission opportunities, vetting these opportunities for feasibility and alignment with strategic goals, and presenting well-supported recommendations to leadership. A critical aspect of the position involves preparing responses to competitive solicitations, which requires the development of technical solutions and close coordination with cross-functional teams, including system planning, engineering, design, real estate, permitting, outreach, estimating, and scheduling. The candidate will be expected to foster strong partnerships internally and externally to support the growth and success of PSEG’s transmission portfolio.
The candidate will manage projects related to the development and construction of commercial transmission projects in which the company invests. This includes full oversight and coordination of activities from project initiation to close-out, encompassing design engineering, contingency planning, permitting, procurement, stakeholder outreach, construction, commissioning, and final project turnover. The role requires effective budget management, including both project development budgets and the group’s O&M budget, ensuring financial discipline and alignment with company objectives.
This position requires the ability to manage a diverse portfolio of projects, which may include substations, underground cables, overhead transmission lines, and onshore horizontal directional drills (HDDs). The candidate will conduct regular project review meetings, both internally and with external clients, to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with project goals. They will maintain and monitor project agreements, plans, and schedules, proactively resolving issues and engaging the necessary stakeholders to ensure projects are comprehensively planned and executed.
In addition to project management, the candidate will coordinate the preparation of bid specifications for the procurement of materials and services and will manage contractor and vendor performance. This includes overseeing labor relations, safety, quality control, project risk management, permitting and licensing, outage planning, scope change control, environmental compliance, public relations, progress reporting, and project close-out activities.
The candidate will represent PSEG in meetings with state and federal agencies, public officials, planning and zoning boards, and other regulatory bodies, providing testimony as needed to secure project approvals. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain effective communication with all project participants. The candidate will apply a working knowledge of PSEG’s Standards for Business Controls and Standards of Integrity in all aspects of project development and execution, ensuring ethical practices and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
BS in Engineering. A minimum of six (6) years to twelve (12) years of utility industry engineering, construction, operations or project management experience Comprehensive knowledge of inside plant and/or outside plant engineering, procurement, and construction-related processes, or equivalent. Proven management experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. General knowledge of basic computer applications, i.e., MS Office Suite. Expected to obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, if not already certified within 12 months of start date. Will be subject to DOT random drug testing. Safety Sensitive position. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Unit agreements. Understanding of PJM rules for the scheduling of Transmission Outages and PJM’s process for generation interconnection requests. Advanced computer application knowledge, i.e. P6, MS Project, Access or other CPM/scheduling software. MS in engineering/other discipline or MBA. P.E. License.
