The Headlines:
In the role of Project Manager – Controls & Automation Engineer working in Milwaukee, WI, you will be part of the Technical Services and Support (TS&S) department. You will be responsible for developing, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling capital projects from $500k up to $5M. You will work closely with the Brewery and engineering consultant teams to deliver projects from inception to completion. In addition to the project management, this role will also provide Electrical, Packaging Automation and Process Automation Control, Subject Matter Expertise to Project Managers leading packaging, brewing and utility Capital Project Design. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Electrical, Automation & Controls Design, and works closely with the Integrated Supply Chain operations teams.
The Responsibilities:
• Provides the project management expertise required to execute projects complying with the project management philosophy (FEL) as well as all of MCBC’s financial policies. This includes reviewing alternate delivery methodologies; recommending alternative courses of action, determining the resource requirements to successfully execute the approved solution within budget and schedule requirements.
• You will work with the Consulting firms and Construction Managers to issue for construction bids, purchase equipment and materials, and begin construction of the project
• During Project Reviews, the technical expertise and problem solving skills of the PM/designer, will lead them to identify Value Engineering opportunities to make the project deliver the best solution at the optimal cost to the enterprise, meaning, they should look for opportunities to deliver the same quality results, while minimizing interruptions to operations, and doing so cost effectively.
• Subject Matter Expertise (Electrical, Packaging Automation and Process Automation): In addition to PM roles and responsibilities, you will be assigned as the Subject Matter Expert, supporting the Brewing Design PMs, Packaging Design PM’s and Utility Design PM’s for all electrical and automation scope on projects. This requires holding periodical meetings for each projects electrical & automation scope, publish meeting minutes, and refine the business case with assigned PM’s to be presented through the stage gate process for approval to execute to the satisfaction of the customer
• Maintain the forecast of the project expenditure, provide Estimates at Completion, and deliver the project to the satisfaction of the customer.
• Travel up to 30%
The Other Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Chemical / Mechanical Engineering Degree with Electrical/ Automation Engineering experience.
• 5-8 years of experience in a sanitary food/beverage production environment and has a proven track record of achievement in a high-speed, high-volume packaging or process manufacturing environment.
