ASRC Federal Field Services, a Subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is currently seeking a Project Manager/ Engineer at the Plum Island Animal Disease Research Center, located on Plum Island, NY. (1.5 nautical miles off North Fork of Long Island & 6 nautical miles off coast of Old Saybrook, CT).  Marine transportation furnished by Government provided ferry.

 

Summary:

Serve as a member of the Engineering and Project Management Team providing operations and maintenance support at a research facility. Provide input, design, oversight, and support to projects assigned. Typical projects include new construction, renovations, facility modifications, and utility systems installations, maintenance, upgrades and repairs. Work is performed in support of a research laboratory and ancillary utility plants. Assist the Engineering Team in the development of solutions to facility & equipment operations. Work with engineers to prepare cost estimates & subcontract bid packages.  Develop project plans from design through completion. Prepare project documentation including Job Hazard Analysis, Work, Safety, and Communication Plans, and Presentations to secure stakeholder approval. Manage projects to ensure work remains safe and on schedule and budget while adhering to appropriate biosafety integrity. Supervise and direct maintenance, trades, and subcontractor personnel assigned to projects. Ensure quality performance in the execution of various work projects. Manage project budget and schedule.

 

Roles/Responsibilities:

Evaluate operations and maintenance needs; equipment replacement requirements; cost effectiveness of programs, equipment, and procedures. Provide technical input to site maintenance and repair strategies. Monitor projects to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations. Review and evaluate site conditions and status reports to determine problem areas and plan improvements in the allocation and utilization of personnel, materials, time, and equipment. Review project requirements and recommend new technologies and suppliers. Perform other duties as assigned.
