Project Manager/Estimator
Overview Job Title : Project Manager/Estimator Division : Construction - Salt Lake County Supervisor : Area Manager , Construction _____________________________________________________________ ___________ ____________ ____________ Job Summary : Under the directio n of the c onstruction a rea m anager, the p roject m anager is responsible to manage and review estimates and assigned construction projects. ____________________________________________________________________________________ ____________ Duties and Responsibilities : + Visualize, define, plan, communicate , and implement the company vision and core values . + Estimate and manage construction projects. + Mentor and train c onstruction i nterns , p roject engineers, and field engineers . + M anage and review estimates . + Monitor employee training and certification. + Maintain recruiting, hiring, promotion, and corrective action . + Project, organize , and implement project budgets and work under contract . + Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues. + Monitor and control project to ensure it is completed on schedule and within budget. + Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. + Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs , and scheduling. + Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts. + Maintain insurable driving record. + Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements . ____________________________________________________________________________________ ____________ Education and/or Experience : + Bachelor of Science degree in c ivil e ngineering or c onstruction m anagement. + Five years of progressive estimating and project management . + Experience in management and road construction materials. ____________________________________________________________________________________ ____________ Individual Development (K nowledge , S kills , and A bilities ) : + Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills + Ability to review and analyze financial information + Strategic thinking skills + Knowledge of Viewpoint software, P rimavera scheduling software, M icro Station and I nroads design software, Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS), Heavy Bid software and basic su rveying and measuring equipment + Proficient Microsoft Office skills, superior in Excel + Ability to organize all aspects of the project and foresee and resolve project con flicts ____________________________________________________________________________________ ____________ Training and Development: + Essential Leadership + Customer Service + Crucial Conversations + Crucial Confrontations + Business Etiquette + Business Writing + Environmental Compliance + Defensive Driving + Viewpoint + Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) + Department of Transportation DOT Compliance + Project Manager School , Association of General Contractors (AGC) project manager training + Organizational/ Time Management _____________________________________________________________________________________ Benefits Include: + Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance + 401K match + Profit sharing + Paid Holidays + Paid Time Off _____________________________________________________________________________________ This description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or work conditions associated with this job.
