Project Manager - Healthcare Payer
Position Description:

As the Project Manager - Healthcare Payer, you will be the driving force behind the successful execution of large-scale, cross-functional projects that aim to mitigate organizational risk and maximize strategic opportunities. Reporting to the Director of the Corporate Program Management Office (CPMO), you will be responsible for all phases of the project management lifecycle for complex, high-risk projects that span 6-18 months and often involve external vendors.

This role is located in Burlington, MA, Knoxville, TN, or Belton, TX.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Drive successful execution of large-scale, cross-functional projects.
Experience in Government-facing CMS applications, State Readiness reviews. Knowledge of government healthcare policies and procedures to help answer internal questions.
• Mitigate organizational risk and maximize strategic opportunities.
• Report to the Director of the Corporate Program Management Office (CPMO).
• Manage all phases of project lifecycle for complex, high-risk projects.
• Implement project management tools and methodologies.
• Evaluate cost and feasibility of multiple options to resolve project issues.
• Manage project budgets.
• Organize teams across business and technology.
• Develop relationships and navigate political issues.
• Perform strategic analysis and risk mitigation.
• Proactively identify conflict and integration issues.
• Remove obstacles by anticipating challenges.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor s degree or relevant experience (advanced degree preferred).
• Requires strong Medicaid experience.
• Strongly preferred certifications: PMP and Agile.
• 10-15 years of project management experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience in process management.
• Minimum 2 years experience in health insurance operations (if PMP certified) or 4 years (if not).
• Experience with CQI, TQM, PDCA, PMBOK, or other formal improvement techniques.
• Proven track record of meeting project deadlines with successful outcomes.
• Ability to thrive in a matrix-management, hands-on environment.
• Strong negotiating, influencing, and advocacy skills.
• Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.

• Normal office conditions, telephone/headset, and PC/keyboard use.


CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $96,500.00 - $185,800.00.
