DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is currently looking to grow and enhance our Highway practice and we are seeking a motivated and dynamic Highway Project Manager to be a part of our Indiana Transportation Team. The ideal candidate will work directly under the supervision of the department manager and focus on delivering transportation projects for wide variety of clients including INDOT and other Local Agencies. Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise with public works infrastructure projects and proven client relationships.
The Highway Project Manager will provide engineering design and oversight in the successful delivery of transportation and public works projects throughout Indiana as well as leading and mentoring project teams in design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and freeway projects for INDOT and other agencies. The Highway Project Manager may also support projects in other states. A working knowledge of Microstation is anticipated to effectively perform the tasks noted above and experience with Openroads Designer is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing a wide variety of complex roadway related projects Having a broad understanding of Highway/roadway design, including roadway elements, hydrology and hydraulics, structures, and traffic-related items Leading plan production for conventional design-bid-build and/or design-build highway projects Managing project schedules, budgets, invoicing, scope, and client expectations Directing, coordinating, and reviewing work performed by internal staff and subconsultant design teams Mentoring, training and growing staff in the performance of job duties Working with a team of engineers and planners to develop strategies and teaming arrangements to pursue projects Assisting in developing pursuit capture plans and short list presentations Growing existing client relationships and developing new onesPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Indiana 10+ years of progressively responsible experience working on roadway design projects (INDOT projects preferred) Demonstrated experience in the management of transportation projects and programs with a successful history of delivery from both a technical and financial perspective Knowledge of work-related delivering transportation project for INDOT, and other Local Agencies. Proficiency in highway design software, including but not limited to Bentley’s Microstation, Geopak, and Openroads Designer as well as MS Office software. Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment Ability to mentor engineering staff Strong client relationships and the ability to participate in business development and proposal preparation is desired A PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is encouraged but not required Participation in industry related professional societies is encouragedCOMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $97,598 to $153,731. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
