Project Manager III

The Project Manager shall serve as the senior management of the Services and shall be responsible for the overall Services activities, schedule, budget, and direction and coordination of the PM/CM staff. The Project Manager shall manage and coordinate the activities of the Construction Managers and other Key Personnel of the PM/CM staff. 

A. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS  
i. Shall have a technical or construction related degree and shall have extensive work experience in similar type projects of similar scales.  
ii. Demonstrate experience with Project Management of rail/transit projects and bridge/civil projects with minimum 20 years of experience managing projects over $100M.
iii. Experience on at least 1 previous CMAR or alternate delivery method project preferred. 
iv. Experience in managing work scope, budgets, and schedules.  
v. Demonstrate a very strong ability to work within a “paperless” environment as all project documentation will be maintained and stored in electronic fashion  
vi. Strong project management skills.  
vii. Strong technical and project coordination skills.  
viii. Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
ix. Strong negotiation skills.  
x. Knowledge of construction when working in proximity to active Amtrak operations.  
xi. Knowledge of Amtrak Railroad operations.  
xii. Knowledge of project management scheduling and estimating.  
xiii. Knowledge of federal and state regulations, and industry safety standards (i.e., OSHA).  
xiv. Proficient in the use of personal computer and office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.  

xv. Maintain necessary training during the Contract Term.  
xvi. Maintain a valid Driver's License throughout the Contract Term.  
xvii. Knowledge of relevant Amtrak Policies and Procedures.  

Rail bridge and track experience preferred, not required

Tied arch bridge construction experience preferred

Bridge post-tensioning experience and/or Post Tensioning Institute (PTI) certification preferred

Bridge temporary trestle experience preferred

Deep foundations, piles, drilled shafts, subaqueous foundations experience preferred

B. COMPETENCIES   
i. Significant skill in managing large teams completing work at multiple project locations, with multiple teams and field offices. 
ii. Must be proactive in addressing budget and administrative related problems.  
iii. Strong change control and budget management skills.  
iv. Strong conflict resolution skills as they pertain to standard practices.  
 

 

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $120,818 - $188,704 annually. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
