Responsibilities The role of the Project Manager is to communicate with staff and clients, make decisions and monitor the progress of a project to keep it on schedule. They are also responsible for managing multiple projects of varying size and scope as required by Spirit Airlines, and in accordance with all strategic initiatives and objectives to fulfill the mission and vision. Overall responsibility for assigning individual tasks/responsibilities related to a project, identify appropriate resources needed, develop project timelines, budget, interdepartmental communication, ensure stakeholders are aware of project status and any issues or risks. Additionally, this person will facilitate all project assessment and prioritization, help ensure optimum alignment with business objectives and maximum return on investment and supervising project coordinators. The Project Manager takes projects from original concept through final implementation interfacing with all areas affected by the project including but not limited to end users, stakeholders and vendors and ensures adherence to quality standards. Follow Spirit’s project methodology from initiation to delivery, adhering to PMP Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies as well as Spirit’s IT PMO guidelines. Facilitate IT project governance and analysis. Create and maintain comprehensive long and short-term project plans that communicate tasks, milestone dates, statuses, resource allocation and adhering to deadlines Effective identification of all project stakeholders, project kickoff, define project roles and responsibilities. Create and controls all project related documents, provide and maintain accurate and timely project information in all project plans, communications, status reporting. Leads cross-functional project teams by task assignment and follows up to ensure on-time completion. Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy Perform budget forecasting, change management, escalation management, meeting facilitation, and variance analysis. Works closely with sponsors, stakeholders, users, technical team leads, technical and non-technical resources and management to execute core project management functions end to end on strategic projects that range in scope, budget, team size, risk and complexity. Conduct regular project reviews and be responsible for knowing and communicating a project's status accurately throughout the project lifecycle which may include presenting to business/technical steering committees. Provide regular and timely feedback to team members and their respective managers, including the identification and resolution of issues that may negatively impact a project or project deliverables and seeks and implements innovative ways to identify, respond to and control project obstacles/risks. Pursue ways to improve operations and provides management with productivity reports. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, e.g. budget tracking, project schedule, etc. Ability to work on own’s initiative with minimal to no supervision Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred 5-7 years’ experience in a project management role. Project Management Professional (PMP) Agile certifications (preferred, not required) Leadership, interpersonal, decisiveness, problem-solving skills Computer literacy for spreadsheet and word processing software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to lead and motivate project team Effective time management skills Knowledge of project management processes and best practices (Waterfall, Scrum, Agile) Knowledge on SDLC Experience in the creation and development of the RFPs, LOIs, SOWs, etc. Experience using ServiceNow Project Management module or similar Develop strong partnerships with internal customers and 3rd party vendors Experience working in airline is highly preferred Domestic & International travel under 10% of time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
