Job Summary

Project Manager Nursing will plan, develop, implement and support nursing projects from inception to conclusion. Responsible to coordinate and facilitate nursing education and leadership events throughout the system. Responsible for activities related to Magnet and provides executive level support to nursing leadership and research.

Job Description

Serves as primary liaison for nursing education leadership, executive nurse leaders and representatives from external organizations. Serves as a focal point to respond to inquiries, coordinates activities for the nursing institute  and assures adequate communication and responses.As the point of contact on assigned projects, responsible for assembling, coordinating and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams.Facilitates and troubleshoots the myriads of problems associated with developing complex systems or with coordinating and development, and design projects.Assist in detailed reports, graphs and written aspects of nursing institute documents, Magnet related documents, etc.Provides highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.Responds to inquiries about projects.Responsible for scheduling and maintaining record of system and regional meetings related to areas of work.Independently plans and coordinates retreats, workshops, vendor meetings and site visits.Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.Performs project design for assigned system nursing projects.Handles complex and sensitive operational issues and provides conflict resolution.Meets routinely to review progress of assigned projects, evaluate ongoing timelines, and develop future project planning.Coordinates schedules of staff and other interested parties.Assures Kronos is accurate for approval of payroll.Provides routine administrative support including maintaining schedule, timely completion of activities, maintaining filing system and responding or directing individuals as appropriate.Coordinates and maintains Infoweb Nurse Channel, Magnet webpage and other digital forms of communication.Independently manages and supports activities surrounding grant applications, nursing scholarships, nursing certifications and foundation funds.Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Details Hours: Days - FlexOn-site position supporting and working from Geisinger Northeast campuses (Geisinger Community Medical Center, Geisinger Wyoming Valley and Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre)Travel required as neededThe ideal candidate will be highly independent—as well as skilled in interpersonal communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making.The ideal candidate will also possess adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to work well in ambiguous situations.Advanced Microsoft Office skills required, to include being able to use a variety of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. pivot tables, formulas, databases)

*Relevant experience may be a combination of related work experience and degree obtained (Associate’s Degree = 2 years; Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years).
