The Opportunity… 

Our Substations & BESS team are seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of HV substation projects valued up to $40 million. As a Project Manager in a stable and thriving program, you will coach and mentor new talent, guide your teams strategic direction whilst ensuring safe, cost-effective, high-quality construction of HV infrastructure projects for our client and communities. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will work closely with a team of Construction Managers, Project Engineers, Crew Leaders, technical and support staff to efficiently and seamlessly deliver projects.

Key responsibilities:

Guide and coach others to promote a Zero-Harm culture proactively and visibly. Implement, contribute, develop project delivery plans and oversee procurement, contract administration and project control functions.  Provide leadership & direction to achieve project objectives including standards and procedures and provide advice regarding technical issues.  Manage projects in accordance with the Downer Project Management Delivery model. Support the estimating team to ensure robust tender inputs and provide support through Downer Governance reviews to ensure best practice estimating.

 About You

A Trade or Engineering (Electrical or similar) qualification and/or a Diploma in Project Management. Proven experience delivering electrical utility projects. High proficiency with computers and relevant software. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and up and downstream. Developed analytical and planning/prioritisation skills; financial planning and budgeting skills.
