Nuclear Power Programmes is one of the newest Business Units and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power.

Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of nuclear projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development. To do this, we are seeking to continuously employ talented individuals to join our diverse team that are excited about nuclear projects and are committed to Net Zero, and Energy Security.

In both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Amentum are recruiting for a Project Manager - Roads, you’ll ensure delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.
 
Scope of accountability may include the design and construction of on and off-site infrastructure that may include (but not be limited to) Park and Ride sites, Railworks, accommodation campus, temporary cabins, temporary construction roads, hardstandings, utility networks (comprising potable water, comms & data, power, fire fighting water etc) and highway works (comprising bypasses and public realm works to adoptable standards). This role will be site based 5 days per week, key responsibilities will be\: 

Lead and manage on-site project activities, ensuring adherence to safety expectations, timelines, quality and budgets. Obtaining Permits and Consents– for DCO compliance requirements. Support the Senior Project Manager (SPM), Commercial and Procurement teams in the development and implementation of Sourcing Strategies and the development of tender documents. Provide written and oral reports and attend weekly and monthly reports to the SPM and engage with Site Delivery management for progress presentations. Reports will include (but not be limited to) H&S, progress, cost, and environmental monitoring, production rates, stakeholder relationships etc. Respond to tender queries, meet with suppliers if required and provide input to tender technical reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and milestones. Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Interface with other projects and programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of best practices. Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth project progression. *

Here's What You'll Need 

Proven experience as a Project Manager in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, major complex projects (value size approx.  £30- £100 mil plus), ideally such as HS2, HPC, Thames Tideway, CrossRail, Transport for London (TfL). Experience in delivering Highway schemes within the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB). This can include coordination of design, departures from standard and on-site delivery control. Background in a regulated Highway environment including local authority or Highway England, delivering S278 works and S106 agreements. Knowledge of the Specification for Highway Works and series therein. Awareness of Chapter 8 and experience in delivering or managing traffic management schemes. NRSWA qualification desirable but not essential. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges. Experience in contractor and approving authority management and delivery of adoptable highways and associated structures and utilities. Significant experience in development of programmes and resource management. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Able to deal with complex issues and work within our local supply chain vision, creating a one team ethos. Ideally, you’ll have a civil engineering background with a potential specialism in road construction.
