Trane Technologies is currently seeking a Service Project Manager SkillBridge Intern
The Service Project Manager role is an on-the-job training and learning position. The Service Project Manager SkillBridge Intern is responsible for assisting with project financials, administration, implementation, management, and customer satisfaction for all assigned projects. They assist the project team through all facets of the project and are the established point of contact for stakeholders. The Service Project Manager SkillBridge Intern supports a portfolio of projects that could contain both smaller and larger multi-building or complex construction projects.
Where is the work:
This position has been designated as On-Site at the Ashland, VA office.
What you will do:
• Shadow and assist in maintaining customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and developing communication plans with both internal and external stakeholders to provide timely project updates.
• Assist in financially managing all aspects of projects including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost/revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, applied cost, and preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders.
• Support in validating project scope, cost, and schedule by reviewing contract documents, attending internal meetings, establishing customer expectations, and identifying risks and developing mitigation plans.
• Assist in scheduling, organizing, and dispatching HVAC Field Technicians. Assist the Service Manager with recommendations for hiring/firing of staff.
• Evaluate area safety needs/requirements to provide feedback and recommendations to service technicians and assist in the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training.
What you will bring:
• Completion of a relevant degree program (e.g., Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field).
• Strong interest in project management and the HVAC industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Basic understanding of project management principles and financial management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from experienced project managers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
o DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.
Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure:
• Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt.
• Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties.
• Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction.
• Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands.
• Must be able to reach your hands over your head.
• Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
• This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs.
• Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less.
• Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal.
• Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally, up to 50 feet +
• This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location.
