Job Description
The Callaway SMU Project Manager is responsible for successful creation, management and completion of all SMU projects within the Performance Gear product categories. This individual will work closely with Product Managers, Product Development, Design, Purchasing, Commercialization, Demand Planning and suppliers.
About the Role:
This individual will report to the Program Manager of Performance Gear. They will be responsible for the entire Callaway SMU program and coordinate teams to successfully complete projects. Soft skills are incredibly important for the success of this role. This person must have excellent communication and people management skills. From a technical standpoint, the SMU Project Manager will establish and monitor project calendars, assess risks, critical milestones, and takes corrective actions, if necessary, to meet launch dates. This role's key emphasis is on supporting all SMU stakeholders. They must be able to own the entire process, from brief submission to receiving product in-hand, as well as continuously improve the SMU process.
Responsibilities
Project Management:
Responsible for management of the Callaway SMU Portfolio.Oversee the end-to-end SMU process, from product concept through to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Coordinate cross-functional teams, including design, product development, sourcing, and manufacturing.Relationship Management:
Manage expectations, provide regular updates, and resolve issues that arise during the product development cycle.Liaise with factories and suppliers to ensure products are manufactured on schedule.Monitor the production process to address any issues related to materials, production delays, or quality control.Supply Chain and Logistics Coordination:
Liaise with factories and suppliers to ensure products meet key milestone dates.Ensure smooth logistics and on-time delivery of SMU products by coordinating with supply chain teams.Manage any issues with shipping, lead times, and distribution.Performance Reporting:
Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress and key performance indicators (KPIs).Analyze project outcomes to inform future SMU processes and improvements.Technical Competencies
Highly organized and able to work across global time zones.Ownership of their work, excellent diligence, and good record-keeping are critical.Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to interface with all levels of the organization to achieve assigned objectives in a cross-functional team-based environment.Able to quickly build solid partnerships and effectively communicate needs and challenges.Able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.Flexible and effective in a constantly evolving and fast-paced environment.Education and Experience
BA/BS is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience can substitute.Minimum two years of relevant project team-based work experience.Project management experience preferred.SAP and PLM experience is a plus.
