Weston & Sampson is currently seeking a Project Manager with 10-15 years of experience to work in Portsmouth, NH, Reading, MA or Worcester, MA office. The Project Manager must have knowledge of the municipal water market and water-related client services.
What you’ll do:
Manage and lead project/tasks and clients in the water system planning, design and construction of water systems (hydraulic modeling, water treatment, water supply wells, pump stations, distribution storage, and water main projects) as well as creating construction documents, specifications, and handling construction oversight/administration for both new construction and for rehabilitation work.Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for water system assets including treatment plants, pipelines and pump stations using a variety of approaches and technologies.Manage projects, including scoping, task management, invoices and final closeout. Plans, schedules, conducts and/or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work of a major project, or several small-moderate scope projectsSupervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer & design technical staff.Planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services and will include activities focused on design of municipal water projects, the preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverablesCoordination with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public will be necessary to accomplish assigned objectivesMake technical presentationsLead project teams on the design and delivery of water conveyance systems and facilities design, including related studies.Review assigned project(s) to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, sub-consultant involvement, and progress billing points.Perform sophisticated and complicated designs and calculations in accordance with established standards and software.Support procurement including supplier qualifications, bid reviews, process design requirements, review of design drawings and supplier documents, successful resolution of manufacturing discrepancies, support for installation, generation of as-built drawings, and onsite support.Participate in construction support activities including responses to requests for information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits, and design revisions/ management of change, startup and commissioning and troubleshooting.Pursue new work associated with planning, design, and construction administration of a variety of water related projects for public clients as proposed project manager on competitive pursuits, including positioning, marketing strategies, proposing, participating in interviews, and negotiating contracts, to the extent required.Participate in professional organizations and technical committeesWhat you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering or civil engineer required, Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering a plusP.E. license in New Hampshire or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire10-15 years in working with municipal clients in engineering or project management rolesStrong written and verbal communication and technical skills along with project plans and presentationsPlanning, organizing, and controlling the activities of a project teamExperience with design of municipal water facilities and/or conveyance infrastructureDemonstrated capabilities and success in managing medium to large projects on-time and within budget, multi-office projects and/or multiple projectsEstablished relationships with municipal clients Driver’s license required
