ResponsibilitiesWhat can you expect on a daily basis?
Perform watershed hydrologic analyses for planning, outfall master planning, flood control conveyance and detention facility designPerform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using ArcGIS and other proprietary software for modelingPrepare proposals, scopes of work and contract cost estimates as neededPrepare LOMR and CLOMR FEMA applicationsPrepare drainage report documents with tables and exhibits for submission to review agencies and address commentLead and mentor a dynamic group of technical professionals – engineers and technical support- to serve our clients wellEngage in the proposal and client agreement development and executionDevelop trusting professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leadersBe respectful of client time-lines through effective coordination of project tasks, budgets and schedulesChampion the professional development of each member of a project team according to each member’s individual goals and career pathParticipate in the development of company design and production standards to continue excellence within our technical expertiseBe open to new ways of accomplishing goalsSeek guidance from other leaders; be open to suggestions in various aspects of project managementGive back to our community by actively participating in professional associations and civic organizationsProviding leadership in these daily activities, among others, will continue the Pape-Dawson vision of becoming the most respected engineering firm in Texas.
QualificationsWhat qualifications are needed and key to this role?
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university7 years' experience managing a team and clients for the completion of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling projectsProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to sit for P.E. in Texas within six (6) monthsProficient with HEC-RAS steady, unsteady state modeling and HEC-HMSProficient with ARC-MAP and Civil 3DMicrostation and Geopak experience a plusSWMM modeling experience a plusExperience with the FEMA, CLOMR/LOMR submittalExperience with developing master drainage plans for land development projectsExperience with DOT drainage studiesEffective communication skills, both oral and written, with all level of employees within an organizationProven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, both public and private, as well as representatives of local, state and federal regulatory agenciesDemonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independentlyOffice hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday to be available to serve each other and our clients.All qualified applicants for Pape-Dawson Engineers will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
