Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

HDR is looking for a Project Manager to join our Water Business Group in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive experience in water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and/or collection system project design and experience leading design teams through the planning, design, permitting and construction phases of projects. Project types could include water and wastewater treatment facilities, water transmission pipelines, water pump stations, wastewater collection systems, wastewater pump stations and related infrastructure projects. They will need to be skilled in planning studies, field alignment studies, coordinating with sub-consultants and utility owners, preparing preliminary and final design, drawing preparation coordination, developing technical specifications, and/or performing office and field services during construction. They will also be expected to direct production staff and perform client management activities to support our Water Business Group team. On a day-to-day basis, they'll also be expected to:

Function as Project Manager, taking responsibility for executing projects and managing and developing multidiscipline teams, utilizing HDR’s business systems and project management tools.Build team technical expertise and design production capacity through recruitment, staff development and training.Lead and mentor younger staff.Build HDR's brand through client management activities.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license; North Carolina PE licensure preferredMS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skillsExperience in water/wastewater treatment, distribution, and/or collection system design with additional experience in project managementLocal candidates are preferredLI-SM1Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field7 years related experienceA minimum of 2 years  project management experienceMust have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
