About the Role
As a Project Metallurgist at BHP Prominent Hill you will be partnering with Operations, Functional and other Technical team members to develop and implement projects within the processing plant on time and on budget.
This role is based at Prominent Hill on a 8 days on / 6 days off roster basis, FIFO from Adelaide.
In this role you will:
Demonstrate personal commitment to safety and comply with all safety standards and procedures. Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance, efficiency and recovery. Provide regular updates on project portfolio progress whilst managing the capital budget and associated contractors. Provide technical support to the process plant team to facilitate the achievement of site targets. Support the Plant Metallurgy team, providing coverage as required. Provide metallurgical inputs into budgets and forecasts.
About You
Degree qualified in Metallurgy, Chemical or Process Engineering Background in the minerals processing industry as a Metallurgist Demonstrated experience and understanding of comminution, flotation and dewatering circuits. Proven ability to work independently, and as part of a highly effective team, to apply initiatives and develop solutions and recommendations for the project / operation. Proven understanding of diagnostic and metallurgical test work. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent attention to detail. Highly developed problem solving, analytical, technical, and planning skills. Demonstrated experience in fostering strong safety culture based on open and transparent communication with all stakeholders. Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite, in particular Excel including PI (or Historian equivalent) and understanding of complex spread sheets.
