Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Project and Operation Managers to manage and oversee maintenance operations at various project locations in Texas (Austin, Dallas, and Houston) and Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando, Fort Pierce, and Fort Lauderdale). Our projects are multi-year, performance-based, transportation asset management contracts with the Department of Transportation (DOT). The Project and Operation Manager will work closely with the local project supervisors, project administrative staff, and the Regional Manager at the designated location.
The Project and Operation Manager will also manage field operations. Responsibilities include: managing maintenance staff and subcontractors, vehicles and equipment, and material resources on the project to ensure our work is being completed on-time, on-budget, meets quality standards, meets expectations of the client, and adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Required Experience:
Minimum 2+ years prior operations, maintenance, and/or construction experience within transportation roadway, bridge, and facility assets
Strong leadership qualities; must have experience in overseeing and leading crews
Experience managing vendors, subcontractors, equipment, and material resources
Preferred Experience:
Military and/or Engineering background
Civil, Construction, or Mechanical Engineering Degree
EIT or PE certification
Maintenance Of Traffic (MOT) Certifications
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related work experience
Ability to comply with and execute the company safety, health, and environmental policy
MOT Certifications preferred
Demonstrated effective leadership abilities
Effective scheduling of multiple crews with support setting up travel arrangements
Microsoft Office knowledge
Ability to write and verbally communicate in English with employees, clients, and customers
Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Ability to manage budgets and financials
Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
Ability to use smart phone and applications
Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
Ability to work safely both in-doors and outside under varying terrain and environmental weather conditions
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
Knowledge of mechanics and operation of hand/power tools and equipment
Schedule:
Regular, Full time; Must be flexible and able to respond to after-hour emergency call-back situations
