Project or Senior Engineer– Electrical and Controls Systems

HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Electrical and Controls team.  As an engineer for this team, you will provide leadership in supporting a wide variety of program development, product research and development, and testing activities across multiple functional groups.

Responsibilities:

Plan, oversee, design, and develop technologies, components, processes, and subsystems specific to power electronics for the following systems:Electric VehiclesHydrogen Fuel CellsTelematicsVehicle NetworksElectrical ComponentsDeveloping and analyzing system and subsystem requirementsDevelop the key aspects of vehicle electrical architecture for high and low voltage systemsDeveloping technical specificationsProposing solutions that may include both hardware and software componentsIn-depth analysis of electronic and electrical component specificationsBoard level chip selectionContributing to the design and development of electronics hardware and supporting tools and processesDeveloping and debugging of embedded systems hardware and softwareOversight of supplier provided hardware and software designsSignificantly contributing to overall team and project success

The Project Engineer or Senior Engineer Will Meet the Following Minimum Qualifications:

Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Attention to Quality: Follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design and documentation.Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.Systematic Problem solving:  Demonstrate ability to apply advanced principles and methods to resolve product issues.Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a team environment by working well with other employees and other departments. Occasional travel may be required.

For the Project Engineer:

B.S./M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degreeSeven or more years industry experience preferredSpecialized knowledge and proficiency in drawing practices, CAD, engineering analysis, design layoutsSpecialized knowledge and proficiency in some or more of vehicle/automotive or related technology, manufacturing technology, design/test experience, test practices and procedures.Detailed knowledge / skill in industry regulations, particularly functional safety and electromagnetic compatibility.Experience in project management and supervision of others preferred.Advanced knowledge and proficiency in electrical components, circuits, control theory, electric motor drive theory, power electronics and inversion, and battery management systems.Advanced proficiency in real time control networks for controlling vehicle/automotive type machines for the global marketplace.Advanced knowledge in control system design and architectures including both electronic hardware and software of embedded systems for the global marketplace

For the Senior Engineer (in addition to the above):

M.S./B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degreeTen or more years industry experienceExpert knowledge and proficiency in drawing practices, CAD, design layouts, engineering analysisExpert knowledge and proficiency in some or more of vehicle/automotive or related technology, manufacturing technology, design/test experience, test practices and procedures.Expert knowledge/skill in industry regulations, particularly functional safety and electromagnetic compatibility.Experience in project and team management preferred.Expert knowledge and proficiency in electrical components, circuits, control theory, electric motor drive theory, power electronics and inversion, and battery management systems.Expert knowledge of real time control networks for controlling vehicle/automotive type machines.Expert knowledge in control system design and architectures including both electronic hardware and software of embedded systems.
