We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Specialist to support our supply chain operations. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services to meet project and organizational goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery aligned with project schedules.Evaluate, communicate with, and approve suppliers to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives.Negotiate pricing, discounts, and delivery terms with suppliers.Conduct ongoing reviews of products, services, equipment, and expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.Utilize historical and benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing.Implement strategies such as cost containment, product standardization, supplier consolidation, and benchmarking to maximize value.Support staff by researching and developing product, service, and equipment alternatives; manage RFQs and procurement activities.Maintain favorable terms and conditions with vendors.Focus on vendor capabilities to support low-cost design and foster collaboration between design and supply teams.Participate in new product design teams, advising on supplier capabilities to ensure cost-effective, compliant solutions.Provide early input on design for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.Engage suppliers early in the project lifecycle to incorporate their insights into product development.Support engineering design methodology from a supply chain perspective to ensure successful execution.Maintain and promote the use of a preferred parts list to drive standardization across projects.Develop and implement project-specific procurement plans.Ensure timely delivery of project components throughout all phases.Track and report material cost metrics to meet project budget targets.Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in custom manufacturing.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).Strong experience in vendor negotiation and management.Experience with strategic sourcing and contract negotiation.Familiarity with JDE / JD Edwards ERP systems.PMP certification is an asset.Ability to interpret engineering drawings.Top SkillsProcurement & PurchasingMicrosoft ExcelContract & Vendor NegotiationVendor Management & SourcingProcurement Administration
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.08/hr.
