Position Summary: The Delta Center for Economic Development is looking for a dynamic individual to serve as Community and Economic Development Program Specialist. The Program Specialist will be responsible for managing and executing a service agreement with the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to design, deliver, and enhance the DRA's eight-state leadership program. This includes developing and overseeing case studies, capacity-building content, and the alumni program. The role also involves managing customer success software, maintaining effective communication with program members, and ensuring seamless program execution. Additionally, the Program Specialist will serve as the Economic Development Specialist for the Delta Center, providing outreach and representing the university’s resources and initiatives at local and regional meetings. Duties & Responsibilities: Program Management: + Manage the service agreement with the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) to deliver content and services for the DRA’s eight-state leadership program. + Design and coordinate 6 annual case study sessions by identifying and confirming relevant content and presenters. + Coordinate welcome receptions for the leadership class participants at the six, yearly sessions to include engagement from the alumni. + Design and coordinate 6 capacity-building sessions annually, ensuring content is timely, impactful, and tailored to the needs of the leadership program participants. + Oversee the creation and delivery of engaging and informative materials for the alumni program, ensuring a smooth and successful transition from active program participation to alumni engagement. + Manage the maintenance of the DRA leadership program alumni customer success management (CSM) software, ensuring accurate contact information. + Produce and distribute a monthly e-newsletter and other email communications to the DRA’s leadership program alumni. + Deliver a monthly, virtual “Lunch and Learn” session to foster ongoing professional development and engagement among alumni. + Provide quarterly reports to DRA staff outlining progress, outcomes, and areas of improvement for the leadership program. Economic Development Specialist: + Serve as the Economic Development Specialist for the Delta Center, promoting the center’s resources, services, and initiatives to local and regional stakeholders. + Attend local and regional meetings, representing the Delta Center and the university, and providing input on ways the university and the Delta Center can assist and collaborate with regional economic development efforts. + Cultivate relationships with local economic development organizations and other stakeholders to promote the Delta Center’s mission and expand its impact within the community. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: · Strong knowledge of leadership development, capacity-building strategies, and case study development. · Familiarity with customer success management software or similar platforms, with the ability to manage and maintain digital systems for program tracking and engagement. · Excellent communication skills, including writing, public speaking, and the ability to create and distribute compelling content to diverse audiences. · Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. · Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders. · Knowledge of economic development principles and practices is preferred General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance Other: Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in alumni relations or leadership program management. · Familiarity with the Delta Region and its economic development landscape. · Experience with email marketing, newsletter production, or other communication tools. Minimum Qualifications: An earned Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Public Administration, Economic Development, or related discipline).
