Job Description

You are responsible for

In this role as Project R&D Engineer, Magnetics you will focus primarily on application of electromagnetic design principles to the development and maintenance of superconducting MRI magnet products and technologies.  Design of primary magnetic field producing coils.

In this role:

Design of passive magnetic field shim systems for superconducting magnetsDevelopment of computer codes to calculate passive shim system parameters for real magnets and environments.Detailed design, analysis, and testing of magnet components.Reviewing and ensuring adequacy of vendor qualification activities.Participating in multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of product development to ensure successful execution of innovative and best-in-class designs.

You're the right fit if:

Minimum B.Sc. level in physics or an engineering disciplineMinimum of 3 years of practical electromagnetic analysis & design experienceUtilize advanced electromagnetic design tools (e.g., Opera, Maxwell, HFSS, CST) for analysis and design.Develop custom software in C++, C#, or modern scripting languages like Python or Ruby.Expertise in superconducting magnet design, operation, and component design.Proficiency in software tools such as Mathcad, ANSYS, Inventor, AutoCAD, Spaceclaim, LabView, and MATLAB.You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position. 

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in (Latham, NY) is $99,000 to $158,400.00.

  

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.    

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here.
