Project Senior Quality Engineer - Infrastructure Programme

Join an exciting and diverse Capital Projects portfolio of multi-Billion GBP investment, over the next 15+ years for the UK Defence sector. Supported by the wider Infrastructure Projects Delivery Quality team, you will be the key lead to ensure projects are delivered to the Quality requirements by working in the project team and with the supply chain. Opportunity to progress to Quality Manager with line management responsibilities.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke / Hybrid role - flexible working from home available

Salary: Starting at £47,690 Negotiable (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Key accountabilities of this position include:

Managing & leading Quality, collaboratively within Project Teams and the supply chain, delivering new build projectsContribute to a positive Quality Culture from Project Kick-Off to Handover with all stakeholdersSupport to supplier/sub-supplier mobilisation and integration post contract awardAct as the Intelligent Client representative for AWETask managing, mentoring, training and coaching Quality EngineersLead Quality at key stakeholder meetings including design and technical reviewsDeputising for the Senior/Principal Quality Manager when requiredReview of supplier Quality Plans and support to wider project artefact reviewsConducting/leading internal project and supplier capability auditsLeading workshops to promote performance improvementPresenting quality data to key stakeholders and for reporting metrics and KPIsLeading and planning supplier surveillance & Quality Control, e.g., ITPs and FAT activitiesManagement of NCRs using root cause analysis quality toolsFacilitating Learning from Experience workshopsSeeking cost efficiencies and simplification opportunitiesManagement and review of Lifetime Records

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills/experience: 

A proven track record of influencing and engaging with key stakeholdersExperience in construction, capital project delivery or engineering is requiredRelevant BTEC HNC/HND or equivalent qualification and/or experienceMembership of a recognised related professional body, or working towards e.g., CQI / IRCAISO9001 Lead Auditor trained and relevant audit experienceGood knowledge of national and international quality standards, e.g., ISO9001, AQAP-2110Identifying and implementing opportunities for process and cost efficiencies/improvementsTechnical knowledge for high integrity structures, systems and components

The following skills and experience are desirable:

Use of problem solving and improvement toolsWorking on a nuclear licenced site / within the nuclear industry or similar highly regulated industryExperience of a graded approach to qualityWorking within an NEC framework for project delivery
