Project Services Consultant – Light Commercial
Location: Contiguous US (must live within commuting distance of a major airport)

With the objective of generating sales and establishing strong relationships within the Light Commercial channel, the Project Services Consultant – Light Commercial will provide professional consultative services, including pricing and order writing, with existing customers of hollow metal doors. Additionally, this role will also support new customer acquisition with training, pricing and competitive product comparison.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
Working within industry specific software platforms for quoting and ordering. Timely/prompt responses on accurate pricing and project negotiation in coordination with local, DSS package quote directives. Converting competitor products to ASSA ABLOY Brands. Read specifications and interpret product solutions. Write hollow metal frame and door orders for regional hollow metal brands. Provide assistance in training new customers. Act as a technical resource to assist targeted accounts. Provide guidance in brand/product selection and sourcing. Selection sourcing based on product mix, pricing and lead-times. Stay current with ASSA ABLOY brands, product offerings, capabilities and industry codes and compliance. Works with plant front line teams from all brands to coordinate orders. Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
Ability to learn and work with specific software platforms. Ability to read specifications and interpret which products to provide. Knowledge of Hollow Metal brands that are used - Ceco, Curries, Baron, Concept, Fleming, Pioneer, Stiles, and Service Centers. Knowledge of Hardware brands that are used - Accentra, Adams Rite, Corbin Russwin, HES, Markar, McKinney, Norton, Pemko, Rixson, Rockwood, Sargent, Securitron. Strong negotiation skills. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working remotely. Self-starter and self-motivated. Must be able to operate seamlessly within a collaborative team-selling environment and provide tangible value within a highly complex organization. Demonstrate ability to build solid internal and external relationships over the long term. Must be detailed-oriented. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Must be an active listener and provide efficient and effective follow up to outstanding actions. Ability to travel upon request. (Up to 5%) Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. of sample or display materials for presentations.
Education and/or experience:
Minimum of 5 years of architectural hardware/hollow metal experience required. College degree preferred - BA/BS. Must be able to read architectural plans and specifications and apply proper ASSA ABLOY solutions. Product knowledge in all segments of ASSA ABLOY brands/solutions, including the mechanical and electro-mechanical portfolio is a plus. Professional selling and demand generation experience; must be able to communicate with both internal and external customers. Oral and written communication as well as presentation skills are a must. Experience and training in consultative sales concepts and techniques. Electromechanical/electronic access control product experience. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Organizational Relationships:
The Project Services Consultant – Light Commercial is responsible for sales growth with targeted customers as identified by the Regional Vice President and Director of Business Development – Light Commercial. This role will report to the Director of Business Development – Light Commercial with dotted line to the Regional Vice President. Also, this position will work closely with the Customer Relations Specialist – Light Commercial, local Door Security Solutions (DSS) sales organization and Door Group operating companies to identify targets and establish sales goal objectives.
