The Project Specialist manages project activities by working with the technical teams. Project Specialists are part of the project team supporting the project management requirements for the projects they are engaged with. Plans and directs schedules and monitors budget/spending. Organizes the external and interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
Duties & Responsibilities:Develops a project plan that reflects the technical objectives to monitor project activities
Identifies risks and develops mitigation approaches
Maintains key project elements (timeline, milestones, budgets, etc.) to track projects
Communicates status and results, written and verbal, to the project team and project stakeholders
Responsible for directing the work of a small team of contractors or EPRI staff to assure project milestones are met
Ensure that assigned projects are delivered on-time, within scope, within budget and in compliance with quality standards
Identifies the most qualified internal and contractor team to complete the work. Selects contractors, frames statements of work
Manages a complex project or multiple projects including budgets and resources
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:8 - 10 or more years of research and development project experience, including 1–3 years of experience managing complex projects
Experience in successful project management proposal preparation
Reports project results to members and advisors
Exercises good judgment, diligence, and attention to detail and demonstrate an aptitude for carrying out responsible technical assignments
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, planning and multitasking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have a CAPM or PMP certification, or be able to be certified within a year of starting in role
Experience in coordinating and/or managing research projects is a plus

The salary range for this position is $110,200 USD to $129,150 USD annually.This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program.
