**Overview**
**Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.**
Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a **_Project Subcontractor Technical Representative (PSTR)_** and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
**Responsibilities**
The successful candidate will manage SIMCO General Plant Projects construction oversight, as assigned, on a daily basis and support the oversight of various service contracts as requested or assigned. Attend contractor safety briefings and planning meetings. Review and request approvals on contractor safety plans, schedules, and other contract required plans and deliverables. Review and route for approval all contractor submittals. Coordinate requests and needs between SIMCO departments. Assist in scheduling all work through the plan of the day. Must understand technical drawings and contract management. Will be required to acquire identified qualifications to hold position and be able to pass an oral board within twelve (12) months of assuming job. Must have strong communication skills, the proven ability to form and lead teams of diverse technical backgrounds to conduct assessments and be able to clearly document results. Must have a clear understanding of safety requirements that pertain to construction activities. The candidate must be a self-starter, and able to recognize and suspend or stop unsafe acts.
**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of relevant experience, or
+ Associate’s degree with six (6) years of relevant experience, or
+ High School Diploma or Equivalency with ten (10) years of relevant experience is required.
+ Relevant experience must be in managing or providing oversight, construction, or safety.

**Preferred Requirements**
• Ten (10) plus years in a construction, safety, or project management area.
• Previous experience working in a nuclear facility and/or Department of Energy experience.
• Previous WIPP Project experience.

Exempt grade level(s) 30-34. Minimum salary $80,609 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
