Job Description
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Survey Manager and project managers to provide technical survey services for projects across several business units, including but not limited to land surveying, landfill, land development, environmental, FEMA, and government. The role requires managing and expanding surveying and related mapping services in the Raleigh, NC office. The ideal candidate will be responsible, highly motivated, and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, coordinating daily with the Survey Manager and key office staff, preparing proposals, and participating in fieldwork as needed.
ResponsibilitiesProvide technical survey services for projects in various sectors including land surveying, landfill, land development, environmental, FEMA, and government.Manage and expand surveying and related mapping services in the Raleigh, NC office.Coordinate daily with the Survey Manager and key office staff.Prepare proposals and participate in fieldwork as needed.Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Perform deed research, process field data collector files, resolve boundaries, and prepare CAD files, metes and bounds descriptions, and final plats.Perform all aspects of an ALTA survey.Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, route surveys, construction stakeout, and transportation surveys.Proficiently use GPS/GNS systems and RTK/VRS, and post-process survey data.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma; degree in Land Surveying is a plus.Active Land Surveying license required for North Carolina and Virginia, or ability to obtain.Minimum of five (5) years of survey experience and project management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work and interact with clients.Proficient with all aspects of computing, drafting, and CAD standards.Proficient with AutoCAD, Carlson Civil, Survey Suite; Microstation/GeoPak is a plus.Diverse survey experience including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, route surveys, construction stakeout, and transportation surveys.Proficient with GPS/GNS systems and use of RTK/VRS, and post-processing of survey data.Ability to perform deed research, process field data collector files, resolve boundaries, and prepare CAD files, metes and bounds descriptions, and final plats.Dependable, conscientious, self-motivated, and driven.Ability to work overtime as required.Willing and able to do short-term travel.Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass a driving record check.Ability to pass a mandatory drug test.Additional Skills & QualificationsSIT (Surveyor In Training) certification or interest in becoming PLS (Professional Land Surveyor) long-term.Work Environment
The individual will be working out of the downtown Raleigh, NC office.
