Job Description

Overview:

A Project Technical Lead or PTL is the person or persons that are ultimately responsible for aligning our technical support during the transition phase to meet the client’s requirements and expectations. Our PTL’s are the “glue” that can take all of IPsoft’s service offerings and blend them together to create effective, customized solutions for our clients. PTL’s have the opportunity to work with a myriad of technologies, from networking, to storage, to applications, to systems, as well as the opportunity to have face to face interactions with the real movers and shakers in the IT industry. They drive our internal roadmap for IPsoft’s technology and constantly innovate on our platform to make IPsoft’s service offerings unique in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Design and understand the end-to-end solution that fully realizes the business case for the customer.

• Own and spearhead the technical implementation of the design throughout the project lifecycle, working with a multidisciplinary team including developers, infrastructure design, and automation experts to effect the solution

• Configure IPsoft proprietary software and monitoring to effect the solution

• Work with the customer during Knowledge Transfer to understand their environment for the scope of support and ensure IPsoft Operations is prepared to service the customer.

• Keep up to date with the emerging processes and technologies from the IPsoft product line as well as work with the research and development teams to identify further feature enhancements


 

Qualifications

Required:

• 2+ years experience in project driven work

• 3+ years as a systems or applications/middleware administrator with some exposure to Linux.  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer focus

• A passion for technology and an IT generalist at heart, who can quickly grasp new concepts.

• Ability to operate in a fast paced, evolving and changing environment 


Rockstar (Preferred) Qualifications in addition to those required:

• Strong technical background as a Solutions Architect or other L3+ technical role

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited 4 year university.

• Proficient in shell scripting, batch processing, and automation technologies.

• Experience with large scale software and hardware deployments.

• Previous experience with ITSM platforms such as HP Service Manager, Service Now, or IPcenter. Experience with monitoring systems such as Nagios, Netcool, or HP OpenView.

• Ability to present technical issues to non-technical audiences. 

• Knowledge of ITIL Process Framework.
