Role description:
Arcadis is searching for a Project Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team in Clifton, NY. In this position you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge to develop, lead and support projects. You will have a proven reputation with clients as a professional and dynamic engineer that communicates clearly and effectively and successfully executes projects. This is an outstanding opportunity that needs an individual with the ability to lead and partner while working collaboratively on a wide variety of projects at a variety of scales, in a ‘hands-on’ role with an expectation of also supporting client development activities for municipal, state, federal and private sector clients. A key component of this position is the desire to mentor and grow a dynamic and talented team of engineers in upstate NY area.
Role accountabilities:
Coordinating with local teams for project delivery. Support water and wastewater projects through the planning, design and construction phases. Overseeing the development of design calculations, technical report sections, technical design drawings and specifications Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings. Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget. Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the country. Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineering and design/drafting staff. Travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs. Planning and design support for stormwater management, flood mitigation measures, green infrastructure, sewer and stormwater infrastructure design, interior flooding analysis, and other stormwater needs. Preparation and review of design calculations and drawings. Coordination of work with engineers of other disciplines with a working knowledge of stormwater modeling, transportation, utility, and geotechnical engineering concepts. Assisting with the identification and description of cost effective, technically feasible, and environmentally sound stormwater actions. Promoting the application of technologies (H&H and risk models, GI and BMP practices, etc.) and research new and emerging technologies (dynamic stormwater control) to bring efficiency and clarity to assignments.Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering with focus on stormwater management Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field of study NY PE license or ability to obtain one via reciprocity shortly after joining ArcadisKey Skills and Attributes:
Excellent technical engineering skills in the water/wastewater practice area. Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills. Excellent technical writing skills. Experience preparing and reviewing project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates. Client relationship skills are a plus. Functional experience with MS Office applications Demonstrated experience in developing innovative project implementation solutions. Experience in growing and developing teams, mentoring staff Understanding of local permitting and regulating pathways to project implementationPreferred Skills:
10 years of relevant water/wastewater experience. Master of Science/Engineering in Civil, Environmental Engineering or a related field of study. Experience in design or consulting engineering or Municipal work environment. Project leadership experience including managing overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring. Client management experience, including preparation and development of proposals and client relationship building. Experience/training with AutoCAD and/or Revit. Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $124,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
