Hexcel is currently seeking a Project Engineer for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA, location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Driving results through the development, implementation, and sustainment of the site Process Safety Management (PSM) and EHS programs to ensure the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors, protect the environment, and maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations. Under the direction of the Project Manager, scope and estimate capital projects (up to $5M), author capital expenditure requests, identify required resources, and coordinate between all effected parties. Communicate project status with senior employees and project stakeholders; develop and deliver formal presentations to management as necessary.Develop proposals or RFQ’s for the purposes of scoping or estimating capital investments; work with vendors and/or contractors to optimize system performance; negotiate with prospective suppliers of equipment and services.Work with cross-functional teams to accurately define the scopes of projects and coordinate with the local technical team to ensure key project and site objectives are met.Provide advice on the development of technical specifications. Ensure equipment conforms to local specifications and availability, interfacing with the chosen equipment supplier.Manage the procurement process for capital expenditure projects.Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, including engineering and process flow diagrams, assembly drawings, and detailed design drawings. Manage daily on-site contractor activity, including coordinating work, running safety meetings, and providing permits as needed. Lend support to the planning and executing of commissioning, startup, and qualifications.Ensure safe working practices are carried out to comply with site standards on health, safety, and environmental regulations.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or in the EH&S field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field or a related area. Experience in managing projects and fulfilling responsibilities associated with project engineering teams.Proven team leadership skills; experience working within and leading multi-disciplinary teams.Oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.Ability to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.Knowledge and experience with basic process drawing layouts with emphasis on P&ID’s and PFD’s.Process Safety Management (PSM) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience (preferred).Experience with monitoring/meeting monthly spending targets (preferred).Experience in safety analysis, especially HAZOP or FMEA (preferred).Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
