Job DescriptionA part time, temporary opportunity for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Proofreader to join our team as a specialist in reviewing and refining Annual and ESG reports. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional grammar and language skills, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of financial and business terminology. As a Proofreader for Annual and ESG reports, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and coherence of our annual reports, contributing to the overall professional image of our organization.
Responsibilities:
Review and Edit Annual and ESG Reports: Carefully review and edit annual reports to ensure they adhere to the highest standards of grammar, punctuation, and style.Ensure Consistency: Maintain consistency in language, tone, and style across all sections of the annual re- ports.Verify Financial Data: Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to verify the accuracy of financial data presented in the reports.Fact-Checking: Conduct thorough fact-checking to ensure the accuracy of all information presented in the reports.Adherence to Regulatory Guidelines: Ensure that the annual reports comply with relevant regulatory guide- lines and industry standards.Collaboration: Work closely with writers, editors, designers, and other stakeholders to produce cohesive and error-free annual reports.Deadline Management: Manage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines to ensure timely delivery of high-quality annual reports.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial reporting to continuously improve the quality of annual reports.QualificationsProven Experience: Previous experience as a proofreader with a focus on annual reports or financial documents is highly desirable.Financial Acumen: Familiarity with financial terminology, accounting principles, and the ability to under- stand complex financial statements.Excellent Language Skills: Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, syntax, and style.Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, and content.Deadline-Oriented: Proven ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines without compromising quality.Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.Flexibility: Adaptability to evolving project requirements and a willingness to take on new challenges.Degree in English, Journalism, or a related field: A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or a relevant field is preferred.Additional InformationThis is a freelance, temporary role with compensation of $40 - $60 per hour.
Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills experience, qualifications, and market location.
