Job Description
Position Summary
The Property Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely recording/reporting of property level financial statement in accordance with GAAP and Company Policies. Responsibilities
Prepare balance sheet and income statement for assigned portfolio of properties
Analyze, document and record transactions in the Company's JD Edwards general ledger
Prepare and maintain supporting work-papers as specified
Provide detailed explanation of all balance sheet and income statement variances
Calculate tenant CAM charges in accordance with lease terms
Work with internal and external business partners (e.g. Property Management, the Company's financial reporting team)
Document and record ownership-level transactions/adjustments impacting assigned portfolio of properties based on relevant legal documents (e.g. debt agreements, purchase and sales contracts and joint venture agreements).
Keep abreast of the Company’s external accounting/reporting (e.g. reading the company’s Form 10-Q and Supplemental to gain understanding of how transactions were disclosed)

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting /Business
CPA candidate, a plus
Demonstrated experience preparing work-papers supporting accrual-based general ledger information and documentation in response to audit inquiries
Deadline-focused; organized; problem-solving skills
Strong written/oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Intermediate level Excel skills
Experience with an ERP general ledger (e.g. JD Edwards), preferred
Accounting experience within the real estate industry, preferred
2 years’ experience in related field
Compensation
Salary type: Exempt
Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
Annual Base Salary Range: $65,000- $75,000
Annual Bonus: 10%
