Summary
The Property Administrator at The Sitka provides support to properties with vacancy and recertification challenges in the Northern or Southern California region as assigned. This may include acting as interim Resident Manager, assisting with initial lease-ups, and processing files in support of audit preparation or reduction of vacancies.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day management at properties with open Resident Manager position:Collect rent and serve late notices when necessaryEnsure proper annual resident recertification procedureMaintain office filing system including vacancy filesAssist new residents with move-in procedureSupervise maintenance and office staffCoordinate lease-up operations at newly developed properties:Train site staff on application processUpdate and maintain applicant databaseOrganize and review files for accuracyAssist with vacancy and recertification files at other properties as assignedTrain new staff on vacancy and recertification proceduresCreate and implement improved systems and proceduresMeet regularly with supervisor to address any issuesQualifications
Experience with affordable housing compliance, property management and leasingKnowledge of California landlord/tenant law and Fair HousingAbility to supervise and motivate staffExcellent organization skills and attention to detailStrong communication and analytical skillsDemonstrated computer proficiencyProven ability to work with diverse individualsValid CA driver’s licensePreferred
Knowledge of property maintenance and physical plant requirementsCertification in Residential Apartment ManagementCustomer/public relations experienceBilingual
