Property and Casualty Regional Technical Resources Leader

General Description:  Manages the Property & Casualty Technical Resource practice. Responsible for analytics, placement, claims, risk control and executive and professional risk specialists. Supports renewal and new business within the region.


Responsibilities:

Implements the USI Technical Resource Service model across the organization.Responsible for full-cycle recruitment, management, and development of assigned technical resources teams. Establish client and new business assignments.Evaluate staffing and training needs according to USI’s technical service model and budget. Act as a point of escalation for team members and clients for most complex technical issues. Contribute ideas and solutions in team meetings for both new and existing clients. Improve the effectiveness of new business, retention and stewardship meetings. Improve the quality and value of existing client programs.Build rapport with largest regional client accounts from a senior technical perspective. Maintain strong relationships with regional insurance carrier contacts. Act as liaison between clients, USI and carriers to manage client service needs. Hold carriers accountable for achieving risk management goals. Contribute to the body of knowledge that differentiates USI’s Property & Casualty practice.Collaborate with regional and national USI peers in building, refining, training and implementing value-add products and services. Maintain close working relationship with regional sales and operations leaders to ensure organizational alignment.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

15 years + of property & casualty technical experience with an insurance brokerage. Areas of concentration to include underwriting, risk management, claims, risk control, or legal.Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Practice leadership experience or experience managing a team to execute organizational strategy. Strategic planning experience and responsibility for managing a budget. Must hold Property & Casualty insurance license. Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU strongly preferred.Broad knowledge of all property & casualty disciplines. Familiarity with underwriting, program design, limit review and benchmarking, loss forecasting and stratification, risk management, experience modification and classification review, catastrophe modeling, flood zone issues, coverage placement, comparative policy analysis, contractual requirement and coverage review, loss trending and captive feasibility analysis, collateral negotiation and claims advocacy.Experience in interacting with C-suite level executives. Ability to demonstrate general business acumen and financial agility.Self-motivated & detail-oriented. Work independently while motivating a team and prioritizing tasks. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Translate technical subject matter into lay terms with financial impact.Develop working knowledge of the agency automation systems and proprietary USI technologies.
