Property Maintenance Technician (DC)

Adecco is partnering with a reputable property and real estate management company to hire a full-time **Building Maintenance Technician** in Washington, DC. This permanent position will support the maintenance and engineering team at a key property, reporting to the Building Engineer and Chief Engineer. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in general maintenance, plumbing, electrical, light carpentry, basic HVAC, and a strong understanding of safety protocols. While the standard schedule is Monday–Thursday, 9 AM–5 PM, flexibility is essential, as some after-hours or weekend support may be required. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established team with long-term growth potential. Compensation ranges from $23-$32/hr DOE.
**Position Responsibilities**
+ Perform routine and minor maintenance and repairs promptly and professionally.
+ Complete preventative maintenance tasks and accurately document work in the electronic work order system.
+ Respond to and complete corrective service requests, maintaining detailed records.
+ Provide emergency maintenance support, including after-hours and weekend work, as needed.
+ Maintain clear, daily communication with the Chief Engineer and SVP, including end-of-day task updates via email.
**Position Qualifications**
+ High school diploma, GED, or trade school education required.
+ Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to various job sites.
+ Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing tasks involving kneeling, climbing, or crawling.
+ Comfortable working in all weather conditions and responding to urgent issues 24/7 if needed.
+ Must obtain a CFC Universal Certification within 90 days of hire.
**Technical & Digital Skills**
+ Ability to understand, speak, and write English proficiently.
+ Basic proficiency with mobile devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets) and general computer literacy.
+ Comfortable using email and electronic systems to manage work orders and communications.
+ Must be reachable during the workday by phone and email to ensure timely response to requests.
**Tools & Equipment Knowledge**
+ Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, saws, and hammers.
+ Proficient with power tools like drills, grinders, sanders, and saws.
+ Experience using mechanical aids such as dollies, ladders, jacks, and hoists.
+ Familiar with mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, and blowers.
+ Able to use diagnostic and measuring devices like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and pH testers.
**Pay Details:** $47,840.00 to $66,560.00 per year
