Responsibilities Manage the Montana/Dakotas State Office fleet management program functions. Implement fleet management policies and procedures to direct organizational fleet operations. Provide technical guidance on vehicle equipment requirements to optimize the return on organizational vehicle/equipment investments. Conduct periodic inventories to maintain accurate inventory lists, determine stocking and reorder points, initiate appropriate purchases, and create Purchase Request Authorizations. You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Oversee motor vehicle fleet to ensure the completion of regular and irregular maintenance and repairs; assist in the disposal and procurement of replacement vehicles and equipment; and perform administrative duties such as managing and replacing fleet charge cards, ordering license plates, and scheduling vehicle safety inspections to support organizational fleet operations. -OR- Education: Possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in one or a combination of the following fields: business management, business administration, finance, or a closely related field. - OR- Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The physical requirements of this position are those generally associated with an office or warehouse environment. The work requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, driving, and occasionally lifting and moving supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. The incumbent operates a variety of motor vehicles and/or forklifts. Situations can be expected to dictate work that must be performed out in the open or in less comfortable surroundings and a variety of field locations. Work Environment: Work is normally performed in an office or warehouse setting. The incumbent may be required to perform duties relating to supply, real and personal property, warehouse, and fleet management outdoors in unfavorable conditions.
