Property Mapping Technician

Salary Range $38,670 - $62,259

Purpose of Classification: 

The purpose of this classification is to perform technical, clerical, and research work to prepare and maintain ownership records and tax maps for the County Tax Digest and to provide customer service to individuals requiring mapping, parcel,and property assistance. 

Essential Functions:  

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. 

Processes, reads and interprets deeds and maps; receives and reviews property deeds; verifies ownership, legal description, addressing, and related issues; conducts research in department and court records and databases; compiles records and information; compares legal description to map data to ensure conformity; and identifies and corrects errors and deviations. 

Updates ownership records in department database; reviews compiled records and information; enters, retrieves, reviews or modify data; verifies accuracy of data and makes corrections as needed; conducts further research as needed; and generates related reports. 

Performs customer service functions; provides information/assistance on the phone or in person; responds to routine questions or complaints; researches problems/complaints; and initiates problem resolution. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

High school diploma or GED required; one year of experience in property mapping or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. 

Specific License or Certification Required:  Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
