The Property Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the property/inventory control function.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Monitors shipping and receiving activities.Ensures that center equipment and supplies are received and distributed. Enters data in receiving computer system.Posts and maintains shipping, receiving, inventory records and documents in accordance with center and Department of Labor regulations.Monitors the use of consumable items and completes requisitions to resupply warehouse before supplies run out. Maintains perpetual inventory of expendable items including clothing and office supplies.Monitors Master EPMS Property inventory, assigns and trains property custodians, conduct quarterly equipment inventory, and annual property certification. Completes appropriate property DOL forms for lost, damaged, or excess equipment. Works with Safety/Security Manager, Property Clerk, and center leadership to report and investigate lost or stolen property.Screens GSA excess property list for possible utilization by the center.Arranges for disposition of excess materials in accordance with procedures as stated in the PRH.Monitors the procurement of supplies, materials and equipment for General Services Administration, self-service store and other vendors.Monitors maintenance of accurate records on the physical location of all center property. Transfers property within EPMS according to hand receipts.Maintains inventory of, and issues student clothing. RequirementsMinimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Two years’ experience in property/inventory control.
Preferred: Associates degree, Military or private property or supply experience. Good technology skills.
Knowledge: Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Sound working knowledge of property/inventory control procedures. Knowledge of Government property management requirements and procedures desired. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Strong organization skills. Ability to operate a personal computer. Ability to learn company software systems.
