Proponent Life Cycle Function Manager
Summary About the Position: Performs as Life Cycle Function Manager for the Army Model and Simulation Office (AMSO), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8 with full responsibilities for managing, developing, analyzing and improving Army Functional Area 57 (FA 57, Simulation Operations) force acquisition programs, recruitment strategies, sustainment actions, retention policies, research studies and life cycle management functions. Responsibilities Manage Functional Area 57 life cycle, emphasizing proponent policies, officer accessions, recruitment strategies, sustainment programs, retention policies, and life cycle management functions. Recommend officer Area of Concentration (AOC) and Functional Area codes. Coordinate actions with other life cycle managers, and programs. Maintain communication with all Functional Area 57 personnel and communicates the professional interests of the career field. Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical assistance, manpower, and personnel advice for the proponent and in meetings and briefings across all organizational levels to effectively advocate for the functional area; analyzing and managing comprehensive workforce demographics and key manpower information for the functional area to improve recruitment, accession, and retention strategies; monitoring and analyzing manning documents for organizations utilizing force management systems such as Tables of Organization and Equipment (TOE), Modified Tables of Organization and Equipment (MTOE), and Tables of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) to support requirements, authorizations, concepts, and force structure; maintaining recruitment programs to include developing recruitment strategies, designing recruitment and informational materials, displays, and booths for positive impacts in officer acquisition and sustainment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Modeling and Simulation Oral Communication Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
