Proposal Manager

What you'll do The Proposal Manager is responsible for proposal development including creating and maintaining schedules, organizing resources, coordinating inputs and reviews, ensuring alignment with bid strategy, ensuring compliance, resolving internal response team issues, and providing process leadership for the completion and on-time submission of RFx responses (Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI)) and Security Assessments. Ultimately, the Proposal Manager manages the RFx response from beginning to end: from research and data collection/maintenance to writing and editing/proofreading, to proposal document creation and revision, and production (when needed). The role includes continuous review and knowledge of the Docusign solutions, content updates in Loopio, and security-related questions and responses. This role reports to the Manager, Proposal Management Responsibilities: Owns RFx or Security Assessment responses within the Proposal Manager’s alignment or as assigned by the Manager, Proposal Management. This includes planning, researching, developing, and editing sophisticated content for proposals in response to customer solicitations – maintaining high standards around the quality and accuracy of the final output Serves as a central point of contact on assigned proposals and leads a multi-discipline or cross-functional team Leads the bid/no bid qualification process with Sales and Solution Consulting, using data collected Reviews RFx for flags, issues, and risks, and works with internal teams to mitigate these risks Acts as the visionary for the solution, identifying and developing win themes and strategies based on the latest competitive intel Creates the project plan and supervises assignments for completion Leads initial and ongoing status meetings to review progress on outstanding RFx content tasks/assignments Writes content for cover letters, executive summaries, and other materials to customize for the customer Helps to maintain proposal processes, templates, standards, and best practices within the Proposal Knowledge Center, providing suggestions and improvements as needed Develops and maintains proposal content in Loopio Identifies content gaps, then works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) - sales, technical, and engineering authorities, as well as contract and legal representatives - to craft responses Manages involvement of Subject Matter Experts (SME) for technical writing assignments, ensuring that submissions are accurate, aligned with the outline and RFP instructions, and address win themes and strategies Supervises RFx responses in Salesforce and keeps information updated throughout the project and following submission Keeps management informed of progress and/or issues and provides inputs for monthly and quarterly reporting Localises Loopio content and other Proposal Team assets into German for the DACH region Works with our Content Manager to lead, update and maintain German content for the DACH region in the Loopio library Job Designation Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time. Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring Basic: Written and verbal fluency in German and English with proven track record to work to a high standard in both languages 3+ years of proposal experience in technology sales BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience Preferred: 5+ years of proposal experience within a software sales environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Excellent writing, grammar, and spelling abilities; technical writing skills preferred Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides) Skilled in engaging with senior technical staff and upper-level management to obtain necessary information Self-starter, multitasker, team player, works well under pressure, and follows through on tasks Skilled in handling multiple deadlines simultaneously and working independently Good attention to detail Willingness to travel a few times a year for team events Life at Docusign Working here Docusign is committed to building trust and making the world more agreeable for our employees, customers and the communities in which we live and work.
