About the role: The Proposal Manager works with the Business Development and Operations Teams in writing innovative, compelling and compliant technical sales documents to secure new business contracts or renew existing contracts to operate public transit properties throughout the U.S. The Proposal Coordinator comprehensively supports the Business Development Team with Transit, Rail, and NEMT projects. The successful Proposal Manager is a creative communicator who can develop influential methods to articulate and enhance our sales message. This position works on multiple projects at once in a deadline-driven environment.

The annual salary range for this role is 66,000-94,000.

Responsibilities:

Review Request for Proposals (RFPs) and all associated procurement documentation to become familiar with project and required response criteria for proposal.Work closely with BD project team, particularly Directors of Business Development and Operations staff (as necessary) to identify and develop technical proposal content themes and strategies.Develop action items and proposal elements to ensure compliance with project strategies.Participate in proposal related meetings and occasional on-site visitsWrite customized content to support technical proposal content themes and strategies as well as other business development and/or marketing materials.Customize boiler plate content to meet proposal requirements. Assist with updating boilerplate content, project references and other proposal related materials.Participate in company and industry training sessions as required.Other duties as required.

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

 

Experience:

3+ years of experience with technical writing, proofing and editing required.Experience in a fast paced, multi-project environment with short deadlines required.Experience with business development and proposal work preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Expert level proficiency w/ Word, Excel and Power Point required.Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong time management skills; ability to successfully coordinate, prioritize and meet multiple conflicting deadlines.Strong document organization, file and control skills.Strong proficiency with Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Adobe , and Visio.Ability to take initiative with work tasks with minimal supervision.

Based in Lombard, Illinois offices Less than 10% travel required
