Purpose of Job: Facilitate and manage the proposal development process in the preparation, production, and finalization of proposals and other written material to be presented to sponsors on behalf of business development account directors for Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) customer-funded and internally-funded projects. In addition, this position is responsible for developing documents, such as product/service descriptions for client distribution, as requested by the business development team. Finally, this position is responsible for mentoring junior proposal writing personnel.

Major Responsibilities
Manage the proposal writing process, including selecting proposal writer for opportunity, selecting scientific and IT personnel needed to develop proposal, and identifying existing documentation to be used for proposals in developmentAssume a project management role for all aspects of assigned proposal in developmentMentor junior proposal writing personnel and train on proper process and quality standards from time to time Schedule and participate in customer meetings and presentations (in person and via teleconference) that may lead to proposal opportunities for assigned proposalsProvide a written record of all dialogue from business development calls with clients and distribute to all relevant team members for referenceContact vendors and obtain quotes for contracted services that are necessary for consulting proposalsResearch and extract information from internal and external sources for proposal developmentWith sales, business development, and consulting staff, develop and refine project pricing/budgeting strategiesProvide follow up with sales account executive, or when necessary the client, regarding the status of a proposal submissionRelay client feedback to licensing and business development concerning how products are received by customers (price, satisfaction, functionality, reliability, etc.)Assumes responsibility for completing tasks in a given timeline and in accordance with quality standardsFollows company and department standard operating proceduresInteracts effectively and collegially with all employees, fostering a supportive and cross departmental sharing environmentQualifications:
Education Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Experience Minimum of 4 years experience in healthcare or proposal writing
Knowledge Strong grasp of proposal writing and budget preparation
Skills Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with proposal writing software, preferably RFP Express
