SMX is looking for a Proposal Writer to write and edit compliant and compelling content in response to solicitations from the Federal Government, public sector organizations, and higher education institutions. The Writer will work in close collaboration with the Proposal Manager to coordinate tasks and timelines; research technical (e.g., Oracle technologies) to gather content for the response; interact with section authors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to craft content; and work closely with the Graphics Team to manage graphics content. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to proposal requirements; writing and editing content to ensure consistency and "one voice;" gathering past performance details and writing relevant narratives; editing and formatting resumes; and providing additional support as needed. The position requires attention to detail, ability to work independently and as a team player, and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances such as accelerated or delayed timelines, RFx addendums affecting requirements, addition/removal of subcontracting partners, etc. This role will be a hybrid role near our Philadelphia, PA office.
**Responsibilities:**
In support of proposal development activities, specific tasks include:
+ Review RFx documents to gain familiarity with project objectives and requirements
+ Research and gather information to support proposal content; populate response templates with boilerplate content; engage with SMEs to support content development; and tailor proposed personnel resumes and corporate experience/past performance references for submission
+ As required, research basics of Oracle ERP, EPM, and HCM Cloud to support SMEs in writing functional and technical content
+ Support proposal graphics development via collaboration with technical team and Graphic Artists
+ Edit all content for adherence to RFx requirements and identified win themes, and ensuring "one voice." Reviews and edits for consistent grammatical style (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style) and checks all documents for accuracy and consistency
+ Supports the development of oral proposal document and customer demos; uses PowerPoint to help prepare content slides, working with team to distill slides to create a compliant and compelling demo to the customer
+ Provide proposal management and coordination support to Proposal Manager, to include as part of proposal team running meetings, maintaining schedule, organizing processes, preparing templates, and formatting documents
+ Engage with SMX Knowledge Management (KM) Team to identify, create, and maintain reusable content for addition to Corporate KM system
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or writing-intensive field
+ A minimum of three years of proven experience as a Technical or Proposal Writer
+ Evidence of ability to craft persuasive and compelling proposals
+ Ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
+ Evidence of successfully working in a team environment
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; proficiency with Adobe Acrobat; familiarity with common office software (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, etc.)
+ Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Services, particularly SaaS and/or PaaS
+ Understanding of IT Sales Processes
+ Familiarity with Federal Government Contracting

The proposed salary for this position is:
$60,600—$100,900 USD
