In this role, the candidate will directly support the Propulsion Acquisition Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and provide system design, development, integration, and test products and subject matter expertise of a wide variety of aircraft engines for the US Air Force. The candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total aircraft propulsion systems. #LI-JA1 Essential Job Responsibilities + Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems + Perform system analysis at all levels to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal + Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints + Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications + Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to speed innovation, increase operating efficiencies and assist in development, integration and certification of complex systems + Participate in the System Engineering life cycle, including requirements development, architecture development, system analyses (reliability, maintainability, etc.), integration and test planning, and system verification + Identify potential risks related to propulsion system development and integration. Develop strategies and models to mitigate risks. + Contribute to the development of long-term roadmaps for propulsion system technologies by evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends to inform roadmap planning and decision-making + Employ various testing, analysis, and modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance Minimum Qualifications + 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; OR 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; OR 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field;ORr High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience. + Demonstrated skills in planning, implementing, and reporting on Systems Engineering activities on previous propulsion related efforts + Experience in a variety of aspects of aerospace design development processes including design, analysis, testing and integration + Candidate will be required to work with other engineering disciplines + Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance + U.S. citizenship Desired Qualification Physical Requirements Standard professional office environment. Prolonged computer use and sitting (adjustable workstations may be available). Light lifting and movement of materials may be required.
