Protection and Controls Technician
Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior P&C Technician to join our team. As a Senior P&C Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems in high voltage substations. You will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and maintaining protective relays and control systems. Travel up to 3 weeks at a time will be required for this role. We are targeting candidates in the Lubbock TX, Pacific Northwest, and New England areas. Responsibilities:  Conduct testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.  Perform hands-on protective relay testing using relay test sets (e.g., Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150).  Test and troubleshoot relays such as SEL-311L, SEL-387, SEL-487, SEL-421, SEL-351S, GE L90, and GE D60.  Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to ensure safety during testing activities. Skills and Requirements Five to ten years of professional experience in the electrical testing industry.  Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.  Technical skills related to protective relays, including calibration, control scheme testing, and microprocessor relay testing.  Familiarity with Electrical Field-Testing standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).  Knowledge of testing electrical projects with voltage levels ranging from 15 kV to 500 kV.
