PROTOCOL & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a PROTOCOL & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of OFFICE OF CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES OPERATIONS. ***This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Please review the HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED, HOW TO APPLY, and WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT sections below for instructions.*** Responsibilities You will determine protocol needs and work with protocol specialists in other Echelons and Commands to coordinate events, schedule and maintain meetings, rank and reschedule visitors, and resolve arising conflicts. You will serve as a communication expert and liaison for various inter-command communications (i.e. wellness topics, safety, morale, welfare, etc.) and external communications (i.e. audits, data calls, high-level visitors, letters of inquiry, etc.). You will serve as activity coordinator for morale and welfare activities (i.e. Combined Federal Campaign, Blood Drives) and perform various orienting, fundraising, and publicity campaigns for these activities. You will establish and maintain and prepare correspondence, reports, and documents, and provide advice to staff on clerical and administrative matters. You will ensure deadlines are met for the Office of Civilian Human Resources Operations and maintain, update, and ensure the forward progress of work for the organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: preparing and reviewing correspondence, reports, and publications/presentations; preparing publications and/or presentations to include information technology (IT) and related interfaces (e.g., daily and weekly automated messages, TV monitors, social media outlets, and routine and ad hoc communications and newsletters); maintaining an electronic appointment calendar of activities, meeting, conferences, travel and internal or external visits by staff and dignitaries; and determining protocol adherence and needs for an organization.
