Protocol Coordinator

Newmont Suriname was established in 2004 as an entity of Newmont Mining Corporation and is headquartered in Paramaribo, Suriname. Located in South America, Suriname was originally settled as a Dutch colony, is very culturally diverse and enjoys a tropical climate. The Merian Project is located approximately 60 km south of Moengo in a largely undeveloped part of the country with the nearest permanent settlement, Langa Tabiki, approximately 17 km east from the Project site. Strong support from host communities and the government of Suriname strengthen Merian's ability to deliver safe, profitable production with significant upside potential and opportunity for employees, host communities and shareholders.

Dimensions Purpose

The Protocol Coordinator provides general assistance to all expats with their travel arrangements to and from Suriname, and the necessary documents and information in regard to obtaining a visa for Suriname to expats traveling to Suriname. The Protocol 
Coordinator is furthermore responsible for arranging accommodation in Paramaribo as well as transportation from and to the airport, hotel, home and site. Is an intermediate between the expats and Camps.

Essential Duties Arrange travel for expats (purchasing tickets in and out of Suriname)Advise on air-fares, travel schedules, hotel accommodation faresEnsure that all travel itineraries are approved by relevant department headsArrange transportation from and to the airport, hotel, home and siteMake hotel reservationKeeping track of all expats coming to and going out of SurinameProviding updated information to the expats on travel and accomodationMaintain a database with all travel and accommodation arrangementsAssist in the production of reports, statistics, and/or information material on travelwhen required;Other administrative duties e.g. visa on arrival requestsGo to the airport to pick up company executivesAssist with creating Purchase Requisitions and NOI’s for invoices and follow up with payment processing in ARIBATraining & Experience

Knowledge:

High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in travel arrangementsExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook)Good comprehension of the English language (written and verbal)

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years work experience in travel and hotel arrangementsHas excellent administrative and organizational skillsHas written and verbal commination skills in Dutch and English
